Dr. Cordes, who is board-certified
in pediatrics, was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA, and was a 1988 graduate
of Ursinus College in Collegeville, PA.
Dr.
Cordes earned his medical degree from the University of Osteopathic Medicine in
Des Moines, IA. After a one-year internship in Erie, PA, Dr. Cordes
completed his pediatric residency at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA.
Following his residency, "Dr. Rob" worked in the Geisinger system in
Wilkes-Barre, PA for five years before joining Children's Clinic.
Dr. Rob has
special interests in childhood nutrition, safety, sports medicine, and
immunization. He has led seminars on
breast feeding and child safety, and helped review the AAP Statement on Safety
in Youth Baseball and Softball. He has served as a speaker for the PA Chapter of
the AAP Immunization Education Program.
He is a member of the AAP Section on Breast
Feeding and trained as a NHTSA Certified Child Passenger Safety Technician.
Dr. Cordes is
a fellow of the American Academy of
Pediatrics.
Outside the
office, he enjoys minor league baseball with his wife, Deb, and their two sons. He is also interested in Civil War history, ethnopediatrics, amateur
astronomy, and dog obedience training.
